PRAYERS please continue to
pray for all involved in the recent tragedies in Cumbria; prayers for those who died,
those injured or maimed, those bereaved of loved ones in terribly mystifying and
irrational circumstances, those numbed and scared at the tragedies that took
place in their quiet country towns and villages. They need our prayers for a
long time to come.
PRAYERS for Sonia Mary Holdsworth who died on Wednesday 9th June and who’s Requiem Mass will be at 2.00pm
this Monday at St Teresa’s, followed by cremation at Milton Chapel, Chilterns
Crematorium, may she rest in peace, and prayers for the family left to mourn,
especially Alison and Dennis Houston and grandsons Tim and Peter who are all
parishioners here at St Teresa’s.
THE PUBLIC
PRAYERS we have been saying for Vocations
during Masses for the past year will now cease. But we are encouraged to say
them privately. At the close of the ‘Year of the Priest’ Pope Benedict stressed
that “the priest must dedicate himself totally, often going against the current
and remembering that he who is big must act like the smallest, and he who
governs must act like a servant” What a beautiful statement based on the
teaching and example of Jesus himself.
A HUGE THANK
YOU to Rex Kidd and John Urch who are stepping down at the end of June from many
years of photocopying, folding and inserting various flyers into the parish
weekly Newsletter. Thank you Rex and John for your incredible
commitment week after week and year after year.
IS THERE ANYONE OUT
THERE who would consider taking over
from Rex and John ? It takes 30 to 40 minutes each
Thursday afternoon here at the Presbytery, it would be ideal if there were two
people who would like to do it together
either as a job share (alternative weeks) or coming in together to share
the task. A warm welcome and a cup of coffee always on
offer. Phone Father Tom or Polly on the Presbytery
phone number.
