DEACON SEAN WRITES At the behest of the Bishop Walking Humbly With Our God is what
the Steering Group for our Pastoral Area (Missendon,
Wendover, Risborough , Haddenham,
Long Crendon and Westcott) has been trying to do as
it meets to put together a Groundplan for the ongoing
development of the life and mission of the Church locally. The Group is made up
of priests of the area together with parish representatives (Margaret Cripps is
ours) a Deacon (me) and Rob Duigan as the Head of the
only Catholic school in our area. Using the feedback from our Parish
discussions on the Bishop’s Vision ‘Thriving Catholic Communities’ the Group is
planning how to face the challenges of a sharply declining number of priests
and how to help grow our Catholic communities and develop our mission to the
wider world by working more closely together. Our next meeting, on the Feast of
the Annunciation (a prize to the first under 18 who can tell me the date!) will
finalise the plan which has to be
with the Bishop by Pentecost. Watch
this space and pray that just as the Word became flesh, so the many hopes and
dreams in the plan might be embodied in action over the next few years.
SAUNDERTON LODGE owing to Health and Safety
Regulations Saunderton Lodge are no longer allowed to accept electrical goods
or soft furnishings. They are, however still very grateful for donations such
as non-perishable food, clothes, bedding and kitchen utensils. This would be an
ideal opportunity to thank St Teresa’s parish for all the help and support they
continue to give to Saunderton Lodge, so thank you all.
