A BIG THANK YOU to every one who supported the recent
CAFOD garden party. The weather was
perfect and it was a lovely afternoon. £740.00 was raised and will be going to
this year’s project for the rehabilitation of child soldiers. Also a big thank you to everyone who helped on
the day by carrying tables, washing dishes, making sandwiches and baking cakes:
we could not have these events without you!
BOOKS FOR OUR SRIRITUAL JOURNEY. There is still time to order from the large range available from the Redemptorist
Publications, which can be found on www.rpbooks.co.uk An order sheet will be
in the book room until 28th September, or contact Margaret Dalton on

THE CHURCH CHRISTMAS
FUND RAISING EVENT will
be on Saturday 29th November. Please enter this date in your diary and keep
the day free. Catherine Grose has
stepped down as one of the organisers,
so a very big thank you to Catherine for the hard work, support, and commitment
she has given on our behalf.
THE HUMAN FERTILISATION
& EMBRYOLOGY BILL has
already allowed human/animal hybrid
embryos, saviour siblings and the end of the ‘need for a father’! In the Autumn the Government proposes to introduce measures to
repeal the Human Reproductive Cloning Act 2001 allowing the creation of
children without a father (and in some circumstances without a mother) the
creation of genetically modified children.
The All Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group has written to ask that we
all write to our local M.P. urging
them to support the Pro-Life amendments to the Human.Fertilisation.& Embryology Bill. As Pope John Paul II said in his “Christifideles Laici” …. “the
right to health, to home, to work, to family, to culture…is false and illusory
if the right to life, the most basic and fundamental right and the condition of
all other personal rights, is not defended with maximum determination”
AID TO THE CHURCH IN
NEED have
written to say… “Thank you for a
very warm welcome and for the very obvious support that you give to Aid to the Church in Need. The very generous offering
made by your congregation means that I have been able to bank over £1000.00.
Of this, £585.00 was gift-aided and we should be able to reclaim about £163.00
tax. Thank you to all the faithful of St Teresa’s. You will be in the prayers of those you have
helped.”
FIRST CONFESSION AND COMMUNION For anyone who was away last week, classes for parents and children will begin on Saturday 20th
September at 9.00am in the clubroom,
(parents in the cottage next door, Ker Anna, with Deacon Sean) The red
enrolment forms are in the narthex, with a list of the dates for this term
attached. Please return the completed forms to the Presbytery or bring them
along to the first class. For further information or any queries contact Sue on
343424.
THE CATECHISM CLUB will start again on Tuesday 16th
September at 4.00pm in the clubroom
for one hour. All children from reception to year 3 are welcome.
MONEY MONEY
Offertory £619.23,
Retiring Collection £10.30. CAFOD £2.00. God bless your support for your Parish. These are difficult days so thank you for
continuing to fulfil your obligation to your parish. To see our support as an obligation is the
key to the financial health of our parish and I am glad that we support extra
causes so well without neglecting our parish.
Gift Aid is a great help because we can recover the tax you pay on your
contribution to the parish but this is only possible if you use the planned
giving envelopes or standing orders through the bank.
Love and prayers,
