ON THIS PEACE SUNDAY  Pope Benedict has asked that we reflect on the theme: “Religious Freedom, the Path to Peace” We are all fellow pilgrims on the road of life and all have a fundamental right and duty to live our lives in freedom. Sometimes society paints Christians and religions as being causes of conflict. They say look at the Crusaders in Middle East, sectarian rivalries, look at what’s happening in Pakistan, Iraq, the islands in mid Korea at present. Our thinking now is that the world is meant to be a place where all people, God’s children, can live in harmony, in justice and in peace.

THIS WEEKENDS RETIRING COLLECTION  is for Pax Christi who’s work is based on the Gospel and inspired by faith, they run workshops in schools and youth organisations spreading the word of peace, their vision is one of “a world where people can live in peace, without fear of violence in all its forms” If you would prefer to place your donation in an envelope there are Pax Christi envelopes in the Narthex.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP  This group usually meet on Tuesday mornings in the Clubroom, however, there have been some weeks when there has not been a meeting. Is there anyone who would be prepared to take on the task of co- ordinating this group and become key holder ? It would be a shame to lose such a facility from our parish.

CHRISTIAN UNITY WEEK  A service for Christian Unity is being held at the Baptist Church on Tuesday 25th January at 7.45pm. Pope Benedict stressed, during his recent visit, the importance of Christian Unity and it would be great if a good number of St Teresa’s parishioners were able to attend.

PLEASE PICK UP YOUR RENEWAL ENVELOPES   for St Teresa’s Church Development Draw, they are in the Narthex and need to be returned before the 1st of February.

If you are not in the Draw but would like to enter, there are pink forms to be completed and returned in the Narthex. To become a member it costs just £20 a year for one entry, each month £30 for 1st and £20 for 2nd prize are awarded, but twice a year the prize money increases to £100 for 1st and £30 for 2nd prize. Proceeds go toward church building and development needs.

RETIRING COLLECTION FOR 29th AND 30th JANUARY  We have now received an estimate for the work that needs to be done to the Presbytery roof, at the moment it stands at £2450.00. The Retiring collection specifically for Church Building Work will be the last weekend in January, thank you.

PLEASE PRAY FOR  our young Confirmation Group who will be attending The Lumos weekend Retreat this weekend, pray also for their parents and the good people of this parish who guide them through their Faith journey.

LAST WEEKEND   Peter Neal was received into full Communion and was received into the Catholic church. Peter would like to express his thanks to all the kind people who sent cards of greetings and welcome, and particular thanks to his sponsor Rex Kidd for his continuing help. Deo Gratias.

MONEY. Offertory £748.43  RETIRING COLLECTION. Retiring Collection this week is for Pax Christi. CAFOD £2.00 thank you.

God Bless you for your continual support and generosity for your Church.
