DEATH IS PART OF LIFE
We shall all meet death of our mortal bodies but remember it is only the body which dies. Our real selves, our souls,
last for ever. It is right that we should try to keep our bodies healthy even
attractive but it is more important to care for our souls. None of us does this
enough. Death’s in our parish can have the effect of helping us see that we must care
for our souls now whilst we have time.
Thelma Ward’s mortal remains will be
brought into the church this Sunday at 6pm. Thelma was a daily communicant as
long as she was able to get to Mass and she was a great supporter of our parish
for many years on our Pastoral Council. I hope that many parishioners will want
to honour her by coming to her Requiem Mass on Monday at 11.30am.
Anna O’Reilly’s mortal remains will
be brought into the church on Thursday at 6pm. Anna was well known in St
Teresa’s School and in Ker Maria where she fulfilled her tasks thoroughly and
cheerfully. Again I hope that many parishioners will want to come and bid au revoir to Anna at her Requiem Mass on Friday.
Our parish is a training ground for
learning how to be sorry for our sins and to
praise Our Heavenly Father both now and for all eternity. There is so much we
do not know consciously but the Holy Spirit can speak to us in our inner lives
and help us to look forward to eternity – that is Christian hope, looking
forward confidently through the Holy Spirit to eternity.
SIMON NURICK a former parishioner died about ten
days ago. May he rest in peace.
Simon was a specialist doctor and sadly died of cancer. His brother Richard
telephoned to ask that a Mass be said for Simon here – which it will be on
Tuesday. Many parishioners will remember Mary and Lionel Nurick.
Mary spent many years of widowhood after Lionel died. May they rest in peace.
I HOPE THAT SISTER ANNE’S WORKSHOP on dreams has caught your interest. Please sign up for the
day, Saturday 13th June – there is a list in the Narthex. God speaks
to us in many ways one of which is through our dreams.
PLEASE COLLECT your new lists of rota’s
from the Narthex this week end. We are desperately short of volunteers for Welcomers, Readers and Eucharistic Ministers, especially
for the Sunday 8.00am Mass. Can you help, please. Richard and Rhona Carr would love to hear from you
if you can.
THANK YOU to every one who supported the CAFOD
Bingo and ploughman’s supper on Saturday evening. To all who
made donations, attended the function, helped with the food, the setting up and
the putting away, thank you. A big thank you to Roger
Beavil who, as ever, made a wonderful Bingo Caller. A total of £488.00
was raised. Well done St Teresa’s Parish.
TRAIDCRAFT Fairtrade goods are on sale in the clubroom
after each Mass this week-end, please come in and have a cup of coffee while
you browse.
MONEY, MONEY.
Offertory £656.95, Retiring Collection £24.11. CAFOD £0.82. Next weeks Retiring Collection will be for Mass
Media. God Bless your support and generosity for your Church.
Love
and prayers,
