IN OUR CATHOLIC PIETY June is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Just as in May we think specially of Mary, in June we think of the loving Heart of Jesus.  There is much in this devotion.  God’s infinite love for us was, and is, expressed in human form, by the loving heart of Jesus.  There is endless room for pondering, imagining the humanity of Jesus; His love for Mary and Joseph, His love for the apostles, for the rich young man, for sinners.  Think of His tenderness for the poor woman who was brought to Him guilty of adultery and his brave outrage at the hypocrites who were accusing her.  The Gospels are full of insights into the loving heart of Jesus.  Let us take some time this month to think lovingly of His Sacred Heart and think too of His terrible grief that His love was rejected and He was crucified.

WORD & COMMUNION obviously is different to the Mass.  But there is a powerful grace in it which I hope St. Teresa’s Parish will gradually sense.  It is to do with the value of our parish community.  For the community to gather is to express Our Lord’s real presence – “when two or three of you gather in my name there I am in your midst.”

ST.T’sFC.  Thank you every one who supported St.T’sFC in their fund-raising for the child soldiers in Sierra Leone. The children had great fun in organising their activities and were thrilled to think that their efforts were going to make a difference to the suffering of children who are of the same age. They raised £108.00, so well done to St T’s FC and also to Nick Jepson and Monica Raper for winning the teddies named ‘Rosie’ and ‘Pepper’ and to Agnes Raw for guessing the number of sweets in the jar.

YOUTH TALENT SHOW. For those away last weekend, many thanks to all of the young people who have volunteered their time, talent and enthusiasm in the opening stages of the fund raising talent show. Unfortunately due to a limited response, we do not, at this stage, have enough material to be able to go ahead in June. But please do not be disappointed, we are only postponing this concert until later in the year when we will hopefully have drummed up a little more interest. Watch this space for a new date.

S.T.Y.L.E.  Meet again next Friday, 6 June in Walsingham Hall from 7.00-9.00 pm. All young people between the ages of 11 to 18 please turn up to have some fun together and also to help Libby and her team in the further planning of the Youth Concert.

TRAIDCRAFT will be on sale in the club room after each of the Masses this weekend.

PRO-LIFE WITNESS. You are warmly welcome to join with those who will be meeting next Wednesday, 4th June between 12.00 noon and 1.00 pm outside Entrance 4 of Stoke Mandeville Hospital to witness and to pray for the cessation of abortions in our local hospital and throughout the U.K.

HOST FAMILIES needed for French students in our area 17th-29th July.  Leaflets in the narthex should you be able to help.

MONEY MONEY   Offertory £872.24, Retiring collection £37.12, CAFOD £3.50.    God bless your support for your Church.

Love and prayers,
