BISHOP PETER will be with us on Tuesday evening when he will confirm 18 of our young people.  The young people are away this weekend on retreat as the final stage in their preparation to be confirmed.  Jean O’Brien and Celia Sparkes are going with them to the De La Salle Retreat Centre at Kintbury in Berkshire.  Sean Duffy, our deacon who works a lot with our young people, is going with them.  Thank you, Celia, Jean and Sean for the invaluable work you have done.  The most important work though takes place in the home and to hear Bishop Peter’s wake up call in his Pastoral Letter last week can help us to see how important the home and the parish community is in spreading the Good News both to our young people and to our relations, friends and neighbours who know that we are disciples of Jesus.  Every parishioner should have a copy of the Pastoral Letter to read carefully and pray over it.  The wake-up call is addressed to us all but it will be no use unless we hear it.

CLUBROOM.  You may have noticed that work is being done to the clubroom.  A new floor is being put down and so the room is out of action this weekend.  Coffees/teas after the 10.00 a.m. Mass has been cancelled and the sale of traidcraft goods postponed.

CATECHISM CLUB start again this coming Tuesday, 4 to 5 p.m.  All children from Reception to Year 3 are welcome.  Please note that for this week only it will be held in the school.

CAFOD GROUP Bangers & Mash Lunch next Sunday, 27th April at 11.00 a.m. (lunch will be served at 12 noon) in Walsingham Hall.  Tickets will be on sale this weekend after all the weekend Masses.  Adults £8, children £4, under 5’s free.  You can also reserve tickets by calling Paula Cunningham on 01844-273134.  All proceeds to the Rehabilitation of Child Soldiers Project.

YOUTH TALENT SHOW.  First stage rehearsal on Sunday, 27th April, 11 – 12 noon or Friday 2nd May, 7 – 8 p.m.  If you wish to become involved you must attend one of these rehearsals.  Bring your instruments, voice, script, props etc.  We need to see your talents.  Anyone interested in behind the scenes work will be most welcome too.  Please contact Debbie on 01844-346412 or Celia on 01844-346628 for more information.

VOCATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD.  For any men, aged 18 or over, who are considering the possibility of being called to the Priesthood in the Northampton Diocese there will be a weekend of exploration held at St. John’s, Sundon Park, Luton from 16-18 May.  During the week there will be talks about what it means to be a priest; how do you know if God is calling you and so on.  Please let me know if you are interested.

MONEY MONEY   Offertory £703.60, Retiring £9.56 and CAFOD £2.00.  God bless your support for your Parish.

Love and prayers,
