WELCOME FATHER TOM here with us for this coming week
and over Christmas …. Heartfelt
thanks Tom.
CHRISTMAS EVE at 6.00pm there will be a service of
carols. Try to arrive on time for this. Both the 6.30pm and 10.00am choirs have
been working hard to make our Christmas Masses truly festive in honour of Our
Lord’s Birthday. Our sincere thanks to them and
congratulations on doing so well for our parish Liturgy.
PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR POOR OLD PRIEST as you make your offerings for each of
the Christmas Masses as these collections will be for him. Thank you.
CONFESSION Advent is the time to review our
lives and see where we need to
change for the better. On Monday (21st December) there will be two
Masses of Reconciliation, at 10.00am and 8.00pm. Canon Griffiths, Father Tom
Kenny and I will be available for those who wish to go to individual confession
after the 10.00 am Mass and Father Tom and I will be available after the 8.00pm
Mass. Please keep in mind the teaching of the church; Individual confession to
a priest is the only way grave sins can be absolved. The sincere reception of
Holy Communion removes other sins. Individual confession is always available –
each individual must judge whether she or he needs absolution in this way. It
is a good thing, wonderfully good, for Christ’s faithful to meet Him in
this sacrament.
CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY ROTAS Please see the list on the notice board in
the Narthex. Thank you.
