PASTORAL COUNCILS  are an important part of parish life and as such need refreshing from time to time, indeed the parish priest needs refreshing from time to time ! Anything which is long standing, and St Teresa’s Pastoral Council is, needs gently to be brought up to date, back on course. As the members know I have formed a small review committee to look at how our Council works and find ways for its role in our parish to be enhanced. Theresa Aldis, Margaret Cripps and Sean Duffy are meeting with me to see how the role of the Council can be increased. So watch this space ! Would members of the Council please note that the next meeting will be on All Souls Day, November 2nd after the evening Mass.

MISSIONARY SISTERS APPEAL  Next week end (26thand27th September) we welcome Sister Rose here at St Teresa’s to speak to us at each of the three Masses. Sister Rose is a member of the congregation of Our Lady of The Missions in Wealdstone. This year the Missionary Sisters of England and Wales are making their appeal in this Diocese. The congregations work together, sharing the proceeds of the appeals at the end of the year. The sisters are working mostly overseas, with people who, because they are poor, cannot support them. So they rely on our help for their future missions among those in need of their help.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 28th  Please put this date in your diary because this is the date of St Teresa’s ‘Christmas Fest.’ Theresa Aldis and Polly Sklenar need all the help and support  parishioners can give them. There will be lists of things we need closer to the date, meanwhile if you have helped in the past and you can help again this year please let Theresa or Polly know. We always need lots of help setting up the evening before, helping on the day and tidying up after the event, so if you haven’t been part of this great fund raiser in the past, but would like to be this year, we would be very pleased to have you. Thank you.

HARVEST LUNCH  tickets on sale after each Mass this week end for this fund raising event. It will be next Sunday (27th) following the 10.00am Mass (we usually eat at about 12.00) A two course lunch and a raffle, £6.00 per adult (12 and over) and £4.00 for children (under 5’s free) If you would like to book tickets and then pay on the day please phone Paula Cunningham on 01844 273134.  All proceeds to the rehabilitation of child soldiers in the Congo which is our CAFOD project of 2009.

Also a special thank you to Nick Hill who ran the London Marathon this year and raised an amazing £300.00 for this year’s project, thank you for your dedication and generosity.
