CHRISTUS NATUS EST and that’s what fills Christmas with joy. May the Birth of
Christ Our Lord spur us to bear witness to him. There are various ways of doing this – it is for each one of us to
find the way open to us. May your Christmas cards be truly Christian – the
snowman or whatever is not the appropriate picture to send at Christmas – not
even a little robin. Bishop Parker, of blessed memory,
sent a picture of himself one year to all the priests of the diocese; one wag
could not resist the temptation to send a pretty tasteless picture of the
Bambino apologising that he did not have a photo of himself to send but
explaining that he thought the Holy Child was a more appropriate picture to
send at Christmas, Ah well….You can get Christmas postage stamps on line … and
I hope that your cribs at home fill a prominent place so that your visitors can
see what you are about at Christmas and where your heart is. Thanks, by the way, for the lovely cards and
gifts you have sent to me so far. I am
deeply touched. You make it a real
festive Christmas for me and I know
you will remember that the collection at the Christmas Masses is for your
priest – even if you plan to be away.
WINNERS OF THIS
JUST ONE MORE GIFT. There are
still a few more days before the gifts donated to Saunderton
Lodge are distributed, so if you can pick up a label from the tree in the
narthex and buy just one more gift then that would be wonderful. Thank you.
STYLE: Please note that our January get together is
to be on Friday 9th January and not on our usual first Friday of the
month. The time will also be different as we are arranging a trip to the
bowling alley followed by supper at the noodle bar in Aylesbury. All young
people in years 7 – 13 are welcome. A sign up sheet will be in the narthex
after Christmas.
CHRISTMAS PARTY for St T’s FC is on Sunday 28th December in the Walsingham
Hall from 4.00 to 6.00pm. All present members and all new members are very
welcome to come along and join in the fun and games.
MONEY, MONEY.
Offertory £763.30, Retiring Collection £19.45, Cafod
£4.00. God bless your support for your parish.
Love and prayers,
