THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS is an important Solemnity – and one which helps us focus on the Sacred Humanity of Jesus,
God in Jesus loves us with a human heart. That’s something mighty to ponder.
God loves us with the same power to love that He has given us. Of course human
loving reaches its perfection in Jesus Christ because he was and is true God
and true man. Praying about the Sacred Heart can help us improve our own
loving. There was no self importance in Jesus, no attention seeking. He showed
us how much he loved us by giving his life for us.

YOU ARE ALL WELCOME This Sunday 28th
June, from 5.00 to 6.00pm. the children in St T’s FC
have planned a short presentation for your delight, which will be followed by
their serving you with tea and cakes in the Walsingham
Hall. This is their contribution towards fund raising for those less fortunate
than themselves. They would therefore be grateful if you contributed a small
amount to their chosen charity. If you are unable to come but would still like
to contribute there will be a collection box in the Narthex at all the Masses
that week end (27th/28th June.
LIGHTHOUSE 2009 JULY 20th – 24th Thank you for your support of the Lighthouse lunch on Friday 12th June which made a
fantastic £1,300 profit. Last year almost 50 children and helpers from St.
Teresa’s parish attended Lighthouse. Thank you for your continued support of
the work done in bringing God’s word to local children through Lighthouse.
Lighthouse takes place in large marquees and they try to make these as
welcoming and colourful as possible for the children so have many hand made
banners. Two workshops are run to create these banners and the main stage
backdrop. If you can spare an hour to either paint or sew it would be much
appreciated. All ages and abilities welcome, 4th July 10.00am –
5.00pm, 5th July 10am – 12.00 noon at St Mary’s church hall, please
ring Sarah Nicholson 01844 343369.
There is expensive sound equipment
on site and therefore require a 24 hour security presence. Volunteers are desperately needed to act as
security through the night, 10.30pm – 7.30am. The site is gated and secure, and
in the last seven years there have been no incidents. They have to cover nine
nights and every church in Risborough has agreed to try to provide one night’s
cover at least. People are also needed to set up (17th – 19th
July) and take down (25th – 27th July) This
includes helping to transport tables and chairs back to schools (in vans, no
driving involved).
There will be a Barn Dance in the
Big Top on Saturday 25th July at 8pm. Accompanied children welcome.
Tickets include supper; Family (2 adults + up to 3 children under 16) £25,
adults £10, children £5. Bar.
A joint service led by the Churches
Together clergy in the Big Top Sunday 19th July at 6.00pm. All
are welcome to come and pray for all those involved in Lighthouse.
Helper’s forms (yellow) and
children’s forms (blue) are in the narthex. Helpers are still needed in all
area’s including craft and sport. Please contact Ingrid Gardner 01844 347996.
Thank you.
MONEY, MONEY. Offertory
£850.98, Retiring Collection £26.12.
Next week end’s retiring collection will be for Peter’s
Pence. God Bless your support and generosity for your Church.
