DEACON BRIAN WRITES  on behalf of the SVP Group within our parish. On April 23rd we celebrate the foundation of the SVP, a worldwide organisation by Frederic Ozanam in 1813. He was a lawyer in Milan as well as a Brother of the St. Vincent de Paul Order. To mark this date the SVP nationwide is highlighting its work amongpeoplewith dementia by distributing a film entitled “It’s still ME Lord” The Bishops Conference agreed that this film is a useful resource to develop an awareness of the spiritual and pastoral needs of people with dementia and their carers.

St Teresa’s SVP visits people weekly in their homes or in their care homes to be their friend and spiritual partner. To celebrate the birthday of our Founder we will hold a “Coffee meet” after the 10.00 mass on Sunday 25th April. Put the date in your diary and come and meet members of the SVP and watch a short film while you drink your coffee. Come and see how your parish community is responding effectively and compassionately to the needs of people with dementia, their families and carers. You never know, you may wish to join us in our vocation to be of service to those most in need. Remember “It’s still ME Lord”
