MARGARET CRIPPS, OUR
PASTORAL AREA REPRESENTATIVE WRITES
The Mid Bucks
Pastoral Area group has now completed
the first phase of work in the ‘Walking Humbly’ process and we have
submitted our Groundplan to Bishop Peter outlining our
proposed steps toward a more ‘Thriving Catholic Community’ both within our
parish and within our broader Mid Bucks pastoral area. The Bishop proposes to
use the month of June to review our and other pastoral area groundplans and will feed back his responses starting in
July and continuing through September. It is expected that part of his response
will be the selection of our new parish priest.
Proposals in the
groundplan include a closer link in working together
with the other parishes in our pastoral area and a sharing of our expertise in
some ministries. Evangelisation was highlighted as a key long term facet in
becoming a Thriving Catholic Community. As a parish and as part of the pastoral
area we hope to reach out to non-church going Catholics and other Christians and
to build better communications with other faiths.
Please keep the
Walking Humbly process in your prayers over the coming months.
PAPAL VISIT COLLECTION Although the State is making
a considerable contribution towards the cost of the Papal Visit, as dioceses we
are responsible for covering just less than half of the expense of the visit. To
help us to do that, the retiring collections in all the parishes of England
