TRY TO REMEMBER  that May is the month of Mary – a time to think of her and thank her for saying yes when the Angel Gabriel made known to her what God had in mind. “Be done unto me according to your word.” I hope that you have some visual reminder of her in your home and make a point of paying special attention to it during May. No suppliant sinner left her feeling “unpitied, unconsoled” from the hymn “ O Mother Blest.”

THE CIVIC SERVICE  this year will be held in our church on Sunday 7th June at 3pm. We shall be hosts to the Civic authorities and to our friends from the other churches – the service is ecumenical. Please make every effort to attend. It will be our chance to show our appreciation of all that the Town Council do on our behalf.

SISTER ANNE’S DAY  on learning how God can speak to us through our dreams is an opportunity to explore what is common to us all…..everyone dreams. In the words of a great student of human behaviour, “our dreams are the royal road” to our hidden unconscious life. Don’t be shy of this! A lot of parishioners will remember Sister Anne – please see the insert this week-end and sign up in the Narthex. I realise that it is a lot to dedicate a precious Saturday to one’s inner life. Is it not worth it?

“THE JESU OF THERESE”  a talk by Canon John Udris in Aylesbury. There is a poster in the narthex. If you are thinking of going and you have a spare seat or two in your car please speak to Polly at the Presbytery, one or two parishioners would like to go but have no transport.

LIGHTHOUSE LUNCH  12th June 12-2pm. Once again we are holding our popular and prestigious event, thanks to Father Gerald, in a marquee in the presbytery garden. This is the main fund-raising event for Lighthouse during the year so please help support Lighthouse by enjoying a delicious meal in friendly company.Tickets are £25 from Ingrid Gardner 01844 347996, If you are unable to attend but would like to give a donation or sponsor a child please speak to Ingrid.

MONEY, MONEY.  Offertory £626.83, Retiring Collection £19.30. CAFOD £5.50. This weeks Retiring Collection will be for Mass Media. God Bless your support and  generosity  for your Church.
