THE CALL OF THE APOSTLES in the Gospel this week-end can highlight for us all that we are all called by the Lord to
follow Him by leading a good life and by trying to achieve His purpose for us.
Cardinal Newman puts it wonderfully: “God has created me to do some definite service.
He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have
my mission. I may never know it in this world but I shall be told it in the
next” So….We ask for the grace to know what God wants us to do. For most of us
it is pretty obvious … we have to be good Catholics living as good parents,
children, spouses. But the Lord gives a special call to some to follow Him in
the priesthood or the permanent diaconate or the religious life. May His call
be heard in this parish.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL. There will be a
meeting of the pastoral council next Wednesday, 28th January, at 7
