THE CALL OF THE APOSTLES  in the Gospel this week-end can highlight for us all that we are  all called by the Lord to follow Him by leading a good life and by trying to achieve His purpose for us. Cardinal Newman puts it wonderfully: “God has created me to do some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this world but I shall be told it in the next” So….We ask for the grace to know what God wants us to do. For most of us it is pretty obvious … we have to be good Catholics living as good parents, children, spouses. But the Lord gives a special call to some to follow Him in the priesthood or the permanent diaconate or the religious life. May His call be heard in this parish.
