GOD FEEDS
HIS PEOPLE Writing well after the Exodus,
the author of the book of Deuteronomy reminds the people that God humbled His
people in the wilderness so that they could understand the practical
implication of the covenant. In this special relationship between God and the
Israelites, God feeds His people with His word and manna. The Feast of Corpus
Christi focuses on the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Christ comes
to us to feed us with His word, teaching us how to live our lives. He also
feeds us with His Body in this wonderful Sacrament, drawing us close to Him and
each other. (Hence the word Communion). Today at the
10am Mass some of the children of this parish are going to receive this
Sacrament of initiation for the first time. We welcome them into communion with
us and celebrate in the Presbytery garden afterwards, all are welcome.
PLEASE PRAY
FOR
Vivienne, Alistair and Fiona Reid
as they grieve for dear Ian who sadly passed away on Tuesday
21st June. May he rest in peace.
