MY HOPE AND PRAYER  is that the liturgy of Lent is bringing all St Teresa’s parishioners to look forward to Holy Week which begins next Sunday with the Blessing of Palms and Procession. The event of Our Lord’s Passion and Death are re-enacted for us in the liturgy of Holy Week. The sacred Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil are at the heart of our Catholic life as disciples of Jesus. There is, I believe, a special grace in living the Sacred Triduum in our own parish. As St Teresa Said: “ We only have this life to live the faith” Holy Week is our Pascal Mystery – from death to life. Again St Teresa can guide us, on her death bed at the age of only 24 she spoke those wonderful words: “ I am not dying, I am entering into life”

OUR LIFE OF FAITH  is a living relationship with Jesus Our Saviour and our Friend. This relationship is nourished by prayer and the Sacraments. When did you last go to Confession?! Remember that we have a Mass of Reconciliation on Monday of Holy Week i.e. 6th April. The evenings will be lighter then and it should not be a hardship to get to Mass at such a late hour. Holy Week is the time for late hours – on Maundy Thursday and for the Easter Vigil. If anyone has difficulty in coming to Mass during Holy Week please let me or one of the Deacons know.

PREPARING THE CHURCH FOR EASTER  means that we need to Spring clean and blow away the cobwebs! Can you help? At 9.30am on Maundy Thursday (9th April) a good few people (we hope) will just arrive at the church and help to clean and freshen things up. The more people obviously the better. Please find a little time to help. Thank you.
