THE BISHOP’S OF
ENGLAND AND WALES
(from last Sunday’s
statement) reminded us ‘that the
abuse of children is a grevious sin against God’ They
are the personal sins of only a very few, but we are all bound together in the
body of Christ and, therefore, their sins touch us all’. They recommend that all
of us ask pardon of God and enter into prayers of reparation and atonement for
them. The four Fridays of May are suggested as special days for prayer, both
private and public, in our parishes. We are invited ‘to come before the Blessed
Sacrament to pray to God for healing, forgiveness and renewed dedication; that
we pray for all who have suffered abuse, for those who mishandled these matters
and those who have committed these sins of abuse as they have a journey of
repentance and atonement to make’.
Friday May
7th 9am Exposition of
the Blessed Sacrament.
10am Mass

Friday May

Friday May
28th 7.00pm Exposition of
the Blessed Sacrament. 8pm Mass of Atonement.
The hours before the
Blessed Sacrament will be guided/directed/focused at each quarter to help us
concentrate on an aspect of why we are before the Lord in St Teresa’s. The Mass
at 8pm on Friday May 28th will be for Our Holy Father’s Intentions
and Welfare.
A GOLDEN WEDDING
ANNIVERSARY was celebrated on the
23rd of April by Martin
and Doreen Champion. Some of you will have been at the 8.00am Mass last Sunday
to see Father Tom present Martin and Doreen with a Papal Blessing on behalf of
the parish. Martin and Doreen were married in High Wycombe 50 years ago by Canon
Anthony Griffiths and have been devoted and loyal parishioners here at St.
Teresa’s since 1988.
We hope that the
celebrations continue for Martin, Doreen, daughters Louise and Sister Clare and
their son Paul, and congratulations from your parish family here at St.
Teresa’s.
