DID NOT OUR HEARTS
BURN WITHIN US? Was
the sentiment expressed by the two disciples on the way to Emmaus. They had met Jesus on the way but they did
not recognise Him. The grace of Easter
is to recognise Jesus risen from the dead and present in our midst at St.
Teresa’s through the Breaking of Bread.
I hope with all my heart that over Holy Week and Easter you were able to
put aside what ever keeps you from the essential … we used to call them the
Four Last Things. Do you remember? Death, Judgement, Hell or
Heaven. The inevitability of
death and judgement need not frighten us – provided we remain close to our Lord
who rose from the dead and is with us now through our life of faith.
MANY THANKS to all St. Teresa’s
parishioners who worked so hard to make the Easter Liturgy so inspiring. There are lots of ministries in our parish:
music, reading, flower arranging, altar serving and others behind the
scene. The sacristy is one of the most
onerous jobs and we can all be grateful to our sacristan, Jean, and those who
help her so faithfully with the altar linen.
The church cleaners, the meeters and greeters
… all play an essential part in our parish life. Let no-one feel left out – if you are active
in our parish and do what you can to help, please know that what you do is
greatly appreciated. A special word of
thanks to our splendid altar servers – well done! You are super and I want to thank you for
helping me in the sanctuary.
CWL meet this Monday, 31st
March, in the Clubroom at 10.30 a.m. All

MANY THANKS for your love and support to
me. Holy Week was quite demanding and
not just for me. I am though very
grateful for all the help you give me to keep going. I feel the need for another little rest and I
am very grateful to Fr. Tom Kenny for coming to stay in the presbytery and say
Mass for you over the next couple of weeks.
Thank you for the Easter Offering – very generous as always – and for
the many kind Easter thoughts expressed in other ways by St. Teresa’s
parishioners. The parish deacons help me
and us all very considerably – Brian, Richard, Sean please take a bow. The parish could do with more candidates to
train for the permanent diaconate. If
you feel drawn to serve in this way come and have a quiet word with me.
Love and prayers,
