THE GIFT OF LIFE  Everyone who thirst’s, come to the waters”. (Isaiah 55) The Gift of God’s sustaining life is given freely to all who thirst for it. In the Gospel, Jesus feeds the five thousand. Similarly we should not deny the gift of life to those who need it whether it be the unborn or the elderly. Life is a gift from God. Thus today we celebrate a Day for Life and our Retiring Collection is for the Anscombe Biothetics Centre and other Life related activities. (small cards with more information are available in the Narthex.)

ECUMENICAL WITNESS  A special “Thank you” to everyone who was involved in ‘Lighthouse’ this week. It is good that the Christian Churches should bear witness to their Faith in this way, not only by the message we preach but by what we do for others, Christ founded one Church. Thank you again for your contribution to this outreach project.

The Liturgy of the Word – THE WORD OF THE LORD/THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD  - now we will no longer say “This is the Word of the Lord” at the end of a reading. If you think about it, it makes good sense, because the passage we have heard is only part of the whole Word of God, just part of the entire Gospel of Christ. We will spend our whole lives trying to discover all the riches of God’s word, so it is not just this reading that matters, there is so much more for which to give God thanks. This shorter form is also the way we find this text in Latin and many other translations.

ST T’s FC B.B.Q. THIS SUNDAY     will be in the Presbytery Garden. Kick-Off  is at 4.00pm to finish at 6.00pm. Food, fun and games.

St T’s FC and STYLE  will  take a summer break and start again in September

(Happy holidays to you all.)

PRO LIFE PRAYER WITNESS  On Wednesday August 3rd. This prayerful Witness will take place outside Stoke Mandeville Hospital (adjacent to the main road, marked Entrance 4) please join us as we pray in reparation for the killing of unborn children.

THE BIBLE STUDY GROUP  will start again on Thursday September 15th.

IF YOU WERE NOT HERE LAST WEEKEND  and you are a key holder for any of the parish building’s could you please fill in a couple of details on the form on the notice board in the Narthex so that we may update our records, thank you.

THIS WEEKENDS RETIRING COLLECTION WILL BE FOR  Day for Life. The proceeds assist the work of the Anscombe Bioethics Centre and other life-related activities supported by the Church.
