THE YEAR OF THE PRIEST  Pope Benedict has called for a Year of Prayer for all the priests of the Church – invoking especially the intercession of the Cure’ d’Ars. There is a prayer card available – please use it and keep it with you as we shall use both prayer’s for priests and for vocations to the priesthood at the Mass from this week-end. The year of Prayer began on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart so we are a little late in begining, put it down to my human frailty and to the hot weather. Thank you again for your love and support over the past thirty years. I could not have survived without you. During my time at Bishop’s House I have tried hard, often without success, to save a priest from leaving the ministry. I do not know how much further time is left for me as your priest – but obviously at the age of 73 the ministry does not get any easier. Thank you for all you do to keep me going.

THE PARISH DEACONS  as you know I, your priest, renews his commitment to the priestly life in the Diocese of Northampton on Maundy Thursday. Your Deacons, Brian, Richard and Sean were to renew theirs on 29th June. This could not happen this year and I have asked them to renew their commitment on the 11th July at the 6.30pm Mass.

CONFIRMATION  Just a reminder that the first meeting for those wishing to be confirmed is on Monday 6th July at 7.30pm in Ker Anna. If you are an adult and have not been confirmed please join us, if you are a parent of a young person who will go into year 6 in September, or older, and you would like them to be confirmed please bring them with you to this meeting.

MILL HOUSE MISSIONARIES  There are still several Mission Today  brown  envelopes in the Narthex, If you are a box holder please check to see if there is a brown envelope with your name on waiting for collection, thank you.

PARISH PARTY AND CRICKET DAY SUNDAY 12th JULY  The parish day draws near and if you are coming either to watch or play, please complete a green form (supplies in the Narthex) and leave it in the box provided. This is a good opportunity to have a lovely day out with other parishioners in a great location – picnic lunch, cricket tea and barbecue.

PETITION  As you leave Mass today would you consider signing a petition asking the Government not to carry out their plan to set up “clinics” in all secondary schools, so that girls under sixteen can be referred for abortions without their parents knowledge.

OUR CHURCH a.m. OPENING   will finish for the summer break on Friday 10th July and will start again on Monday 7th September. Thank you to those of you who are on the ‘open church’ rota.

ST. TERESA’S DEVELOPMENT DRAW   Congratulations to the winner’s of June’s monthly Draw. 1st Prize to Ingrid Gardner and 2nd Prize to Sandra Reid, well done.

SEA SUNDAY  Next week is Sea Sunday, when the Church remembers all who live and work at sea. The Apostleship of the Sea (AoS) is the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church in Great Britain. The Apostleship of the Sea reaches out to seafarers that visit our ports each year, offering pastoral and practical support and care. AoS is wholly dependent on voluntary donations to continue its work; it takes the love of Christ to seafarers in the name of the Church, recognising them as our brothers and sisters in need. Next   week ends Retiring collection will be for The Apostleship of the Sea.

MONEY, MONEY.  Offertory £670.00, Retiring Collection £45.52 for Day for Life, thank you.  This week end’s retiring collection will be for Sea Sunday. CAFOD £4.00. God Bless your support and generosity for your Church.

                                Love and prayers,
