WE ARE BLESSED with numbers of young people of
school age and it is lovely to see them thriving … making their way nicely and
when the time comes tackling the issue of going to a new school bravely. It is lovely to see them going off to college
or university and it is specially good to see the
altar servers come back to serve at Mass when they are on holiday. Well done all concerned! Remember that Nick Jepson is always ready to
see boys and girls who would like to become altar servers. They rely heavily on their parents and older
brothers and sisters and I believe our parish community at St. Teresa’s. The young need to feel that the grown ups
around them have a strong faith. Of
course success in this world is important but remember that if we fail to
impress it on the young that one day they will have to account for themselves
to Almighty God then we shall have failed utterly. How to do this? More by example than words and being ready,
when asked, to explain patiently what Jesus and our parish community mean to
us. This good example, this love of Our
Lord met now in the community of believers is fuelled by our life of
prayer. There’s a wonderful example to
give to the young: we are people on the way to the crown of glory and we are not
deceived by the passing glamours of this world.
WE WELCOME this weekend Aid to the Church in
Need. Michael Casey will give a short
address after Communion at each of the Masses reminding us of Aid to the Chcurch in Need and asking for our support. We shall be reminded that the Church in some
parts of the world is having a very hard time.
Just to know that will stir us to support this very good cause. Apologies for the short
notice due to an oversight.

and meet about once a month to discuss and plan Lighthouse week and every thing
that goes with it. If you would like to discuss just what is involved please
