HOLY WEEK begins next Sunday, Palm
Sunday. It is the Church’s special time
for remembering Our Lord’s Passion and Death.
If we enter into the liturgy of Holy Week, celebrate the liturgy in our
parish then Our Lord’s Passion and Death will become more and more real for
us. For some parishioners, those who
have heavy burdens to carry at present, Holy Week will be especially
enriching. For all of us, to be close to
the Lord in what He endured for us can enable us to ask Him to be close to us
when life’s sorrows come our way. As we
approach Holy Week let us try to put aside the things which do not matter so
that we may find the Lord in our Catholic life.
He is present in the Mass and the Sacraments. In respect of the Mass the 2nd
Vatican Council had some wonderful things to say: The Lord is present through
the Scriptures, the Sacrament of His Body and Blood, the local Catholic
Community and in the person of the priest.
He is present to us in these four ways when we come to
LITURGY GROUP meet
this Tuesday, 11 March, in the clubroom at 7 p.m.
