Eucharistic
Ministers are commissioned to assist the priest with the distribution
of Communion during Mass when it is given in both kinds, and at Father’s
request to take communion to sick or infirm parishioners in their homes
or in hospital.
They
also organise Eucharistic Services in Fr Gerald’s absence. These
services take place on those weekdays when Mass is not available to
St Teresa’s. They include the Readings of the day, a specially
composed Prayer of Thanksgiving suitable for the season, and communion.
Many
members of St Teresa’s are able to get to weekday mass, either
regularly or occasionally, contributing to daily praise of God on behalf
of the whole parish. The Eucharistic Service when Father is away enables
this daily praise to continue unbroken.
If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister, please have
a chat with Richard or Rhona Carr.
