Junior STYG is our Youth Group for 11 to 14 year olds (year 7 and above), meeting from 7.00 to 9.00 pm in the Clubroom each Friday of the school term. Many of the youngsters attend Father’s Friday Discussion Group prior to STYG, so our emphasis is relaxation and fun, creating an opportunity for the young people of our parish to get to know each other in a safe, Catholic environment. Supervised by parents on a rota basis, recent activities have included bowling, ice skating and climbing, interspersed with regular ‘club nights’ when table tennis, badminton and the tuck shop are popular features! We foster involvement in parish activities – for example, by a sponsored fast for the CAFOD group and organising games at the Christmas Fayre. We also encourage a wider awareness, recently raising funds to help in Kosovo.
