The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organisation of lay people founded in Paris in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam and his companions. Placed under the patronage of St Vincent de Paul, it is inspired by his thinking and his works. It seeks, in a spirit of justice and charity, to help those who are suffering. It does this by a person-to-person involvement of its members. The emphasis is on befriending those who for any reason are visited or helped by the SVP. St Teresa's has a Youth SVP group. Members are aged from 12 years to 25 years. Currently thr group visits elderly residents at Woolerton Court. Youth SVP are currently looking to invite new young people to join the group. If you are interested you can contact either Phil Hughes or Father Gerald. There are many people in the community who urgently need the help and support of young people like yourselves. You can make a real difference in their lives. Youth SVP gives you a chance to put Christianity into action.
