CHANGES – TRANSITION can be very pleasant or a
nightmare. Fr. Gerald’s change to his lovely flat in the Retreat is very
pleasant. He has no more worries about administration, no headaches about
maintenance or finances, no calls out at all times to
all places. Now he can enjoy a delightful holiday. We all wish him well with
years of physical and spiritual enjoyment. That is our prayer for you Fr
Gerald. Last week in the parish newsletter he seemed to be very happy with the
new temporary incumbent to St Teresa’s. That could change very quickly into a
nightmare. St Teresa’s could move from being a parish of a caring, warm, benign
democracy to a despotic hierarchical dictatorship. When you see a parishioner
sitting in sackcloth and ashes at the door of the church begging for mercy and
forgiveness, or you see a pillar of the community being publicly flogged
outside Walsingham Hall you will know that Fr Gerald
has made a terrible choice. His ‘holiday’ will be seriously disrupted!!
CAFOD “GIVE IT UP FOR LENT” BOXES are available for you to take home if
you wish, you will find them in the Narthex, thank you.
