I AM VERY GRATEFUL
for the calm way in which the parish
took my announcement last week that
I was to retire – from 14th February next year. I am grateful too
for the understanding that so many parishioners have shown because they know
that it is such a difficult time for me. I shall not be moving away from
Princes Risborough where I have spent thirty two of the nearly forty six years
since I was ordained in 1964. I am looking forward to the responsibility being
lifted from me but I remain a priest until I die and I hope that I shall live
as a priest until that day comes. “Into your hands O Lord I commend my spirit”
For the immediate future I am very pleased to let you know that Father Tom
Kenny will be with me over the Christmas period.
CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR SAUNDERTON LODGE The
parishioners of St Teresa’s have always been more than
generous at Christmas time when buying and donating gifts to Saunderton residents, thank you. On Tuesday (1st
Dec) The gift labels will be on the tree in the
Narthex. If you can, please take one or two and buy a couple of extra presents
when you are shopping. That would be wonderful.
ST T’s FC meet this Sunday (29th) from
4.00 to 6.00pm in the Walsingham Hall. Do come along
if you are in years 4, 5 or 6 and join in the fun.
STYLE meet again this coming Friday(4th)
from 7.00 to 9.00pm in the Walsingham Hall. Do arrive
on time as we may well walk into the town for our town’s celebration of the
turning on of the Christmas lights. All young people of secondary school age
are welcome to join us.
CHRISTIAN AID will hold their Christmas lunch this Thursday (3rd
Dec) at the Baptist Church Hall from 12.00 to 3.30pm, there will be three
courses, tea and coffee, Please come along, all are welcome.
THE SEWING GROUP are back. If you are interested in
joining them please
come along this Thursday (3rd Dec) at 10.30am and enjoy a cup of
coffee and some good company. They will meet in the clubroom.
ADVENT REFLECTIONS why not take some time during Advent to
slow down and reflect, with fellow parishioners, on the true meaning of Christmas.
There will be three reflections taking place on the first three Mondays of
Advent (30th Nov. and the 7th and 14th of
December) in Ker Anna between 7.30 and 8.30pm. All details are on the flyer
enclosed. Come along to one or more of the evenings and give yourself some
quiet and reflective time during this normally hectic period. All welcome.
THE NEW PARISH ROTAS are in the Narthex for collection,
please pick yours up after Mass this week end, thank you.
