CANDLEMAS On Tuesday we keep
the Feast of Candlemas, the Presentation of the Lord
Jesus the Light of the World comes to the heart of the chosen people. He comes
to the

who said that to whom,
when and why? This is a stressful indeed sorrowful time for me but parishioners
are being so kind and I feel fine. Let’s hope and pray that this will last.
“Guide my heart Almighty God so that I remember your presence day and night” My
little flat in the Retreat is being redecorated nicely and it is beginning to
look just right for an ageing ecclesiastic. I am so grateful for all the love
and support I am being given. You are the mighty presence of God to me. That’s
how He works!!

AID Please come on Thursday 4th
February to the Baptist Church Hall from 12.00noon to 1.30pm for a three course
lunch with tea or coffee, just £5.50 per head. All are very welcome.
THE
NEXT CAFOD PROJECT MEETING will be on Tuesday 9th February
in the Clubroom at 7.30pm. New members are very welcome.
CELEBRATING
50th ANNIVERSARY OF CAFOD’S FAMILY FAST DAY In1960 Catholic Parishes across England
and Wales held the first Family Fast Day to help mothers and children in the
Caribbean. Fifty years on we continue to work together to support families and
individuals facing poverty and disaster. Please come and join our celebration
at Northampton Cathedral at 2.00pm on Saturday the 13th February.
Mass will be celebrated by Bishop
Peter and there will be an exhibition of CAFOD’s work over the past 50 years.
The CWL and UCM in the diocese were the initiators of the first Fast Day and
provided the inspiration and organisation behind the founding of CAFOD. We will
be highlighting their work. Light refreshments will follow. All are welcome.
