OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY   to Beverley Crick and to the daughters of her and Beresford, Lilian and Cassandra, on the death of Berry. Though he had been ill Berry’s death came suddenly in hospital where he had received Holy Communion. Berry sang in our choir for several years so it was fitting that Deacon Brian took him Holy Communion. May he rest in peace. His mortal remains will be brought into the church on Tuesday at 6.00pm.

TUESDAY  the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. Our Lady Immaculate is the principal Patroness of our Diocese  - as is the case of all the dioceses which were restored in 1850. The Dogma of the Immaculate Conception was proclaimed in 1854 and in 1858 Our Lady said to Bernadette at Lourdes “I am the Immaculate Conception” There are two Masses on the 8th December, I hope that many parishioners will be able to come to one of them.

THREE YOUNG TRAVELLERS  will be Confirmed this Sunday at the 10.00am Mass. They have been prepared by Celia and Jean – the young travellers have been eager to learn. Bishop Peter has authorised me to Confirm them and that is both a privilege and a joy for me.

A HUGE THANK YOU  to everyone involved in the Christmas Fest this year. St Teresa’s Parish raised an incredible £3000.00 for CAFOD and the Parish.

ST TERESA’S ADVENT SERVICE  this Sunday (6th) at 4.00pm. “Come and wait for the Lord” with prayer, readings and beautiful music from the choristers, players and our St Teresa’s youth.

OUR LITTLE VOICE  the book written by you and put together by Livvy will be on sale following each of the Masses this week-end. They are just £3.00 each and a joy to read.

THRIVING CATHOLIC COMMUNITY (TCC)  in last week’s Pastoral Letter Bishop Peter invited the whole Diocese to reflect on the different aspects that make a ‘TCC’ as part of the “Walking Humbly With Our God” programme. Over the next few weeks there will be inserts in the newsletter with material to help our reflection and a DVD to watch in the New Year, put the dates in your diary now; 3.00pm on either Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th January. The latest edition of the Vine will give you a sneak preview.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS  for the residents at Saunderton Lodge. Please remember these people when you are Christmas shopping. There are labels on the tree in the Narthex, please pick up one or two if you can, it would mean so much. Thank you.

WELL DONE  to Julia Gossage who has raised another £62.00 for St Teresa’s CAFOD Project.

ADVENT REFLECTIONS  The next meeting is the 7thof December in Ker Anna between 7.30 and 8.30pm. Come along to one or more of the evenings and give yourself some quiet and reflective time during this normally hectic period. All welcome.

CHURCHWATCH  will finish for the Advent break on Friday 11th December  and re-commence on Monday 11th January 2010 to coincide with the school term. Thank you so much to all of those parishioners who have faithfully ‘watched over’ our church during the past year.
