Relics of St. Bernadette:

I am sure many of you are already aware that the relics of

St Bernadette will journey on pilgrimage through England, Scotland and Wales for the first time during the months of September and October. It is hoped that this event will enable people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the special gifts and charisms of Lourdes in a church or cathedral near them. It will be a really beautiful experience.
The relics will be arriving in our own diocese on Monday, 10th October 2022 at 3:00pm. The reliquary will be placed in front of the sanctuary in the cathedral for people to venerate, before leaving Northampton on Thursday, 13th October at 9:00 am. During this time, the cathedral will be open from 7am until 10pm, with Mass being celebrated at various points during the day, as well as led rosaries. There will also be a number of priests hearing confessions in the cathedral during this time. Please do check the diocesan website closer to the time for a more detailed schedule of events.

Ride and Stride for Bucks Historic Churches Trust on Saturday, 10th September:

Once again, we would like to support this Charity as they gave a generous donation towards our Roof Repair Fund. Please consider walking, riding or jogging to churches of all denominations in our area. Many will be open for viewing and offering hospitality (as will St Teresa’s). For those who like walking with a group, there will be a Parish walk, starting and finishing at our church, taking in about 6 churches and lasting approx. 2 hours. If walking/riding isn’t for you, please consider sponsoring this group. Half the money we raise will be given to our Church Roof Fund.

Ukrainian Update:

Deep gratitude goes to all St Teresa’s parishioners for the wonderful donations given from last week’s appeal. This young family will be collecting all the items on Tuesday and will be ready to move into their flat on Monday 15th August. This week we have requests for tennis rackets. A local club are offering free access to tennis courts for our Ukrainian guests. A request has also been made for the loan of a free-standing clothes rail and coat hangers for use in the Walsingham Hall. Do remember that you are welcome to join us on a Tuesday morning from 10:30am - 12noon for coffee/tea and to see all that is being done by St Teresa’s Parish to welcome and help all our Ukrainian guests.

First Holy Communion and Confirmation Programmes:

In past years our parish has been blessed with excellent catechists to deliver the First Holy Communion and Confirmation programmes to our young people. Unfortunately, our wonderful catechists have had to step down due to different work and family commitments. So, for the first time in a good number of years we do not have catechists to deliver the 2022-2023 programmes. If you feel that you may be in a position to help or that you would like to have more information of what it involves, please do contact Fr Lijo.

Coffee and Company:

Many parishioners meet for coffee and chat after 10 am Mass on a Tuesday. All are welcome, and you will also have the opportunity to meet some of our local Ukrainian guests who call in to browse around the ‘shop’ St Teresa’s Parish have created.
