St. Teresa's School was started in 1945 when the Parish Priest, Fr. Dreves, invited the Daughters of Jesus to open a parish school. Today the school continues to enjoy close links with the Parish and the Diocese. As well as attending Mass with the Parish for special occasions and on days of Holy Obligation, the children visit the church regularly, including during Lent for the Stations of the Cross. Fr. Joseph has blessed each classroom and visits regularly. Each year we have a Community Day to celebrate our patron saint, Saint Therese, when the Parish join us in our day of celebration.
St Teresa’s School is a community in which children, families and teachers work together to provide a loving learning environment - a school for life according to the teaching of the Catholic Church. We pride ourselves on our loving ethos, where all children are valued and nurtured to become the best that they can be. Each child is unique and we are committed to lighting the spark so that all our children love learning, experience success (and challenges) and achieve academically, spiritually, physically, artistically, musically and socially.
The size of St Teresa’s School is a huge advantage, staff know every child by name and nobody is overlooked. Indeed, it is by getting to know the children well that we can help them to develop their individual God given qualities and talents.
The school website gives you a glimpse of life within the school, but you are always welcome to visit and find out more.
Bursary applications are welcomed from families within St. Teresa’s Parish.
