FR LIJO ON LEAVE
Just to let you know that I will be taking my home leave from 8th April until 3rd May. Please see the newsletter each week for the
times of the weekday Services of Word and Communion. The times for the masses at the weekend remain the same.
Please contact Deacon Gordon in case of emergency or for any other matter. I am looking forward to seeing my family again, especially my mother. Please be assured that I will keep you all in my prayers when I celebrate my daily mass in India and I will be looking forward to seeing you all when I return.

Fr Lijo

WE DARE TO SAY:
This year, 2024 has been designated by Pope Francis as the year of prayer in preparation for the coming Jubilee year in 2025. The Our Father, given to us by Jesus himself, is the heart
of all prayer. Join us for five weekly faith-sharing sessions on the words of the Our Father -
Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm,
April 24th.
May 1st, 8th and 15th.

To be held in St Teresa’s Church. Everyone is
Welcome! Each session will last about an hour.

CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY AND LENT LUNCHES
Our sincere thanks to everyone who kindly responded to this year’s Lent appeal. A fantastic total of £1151.70 has been raised for CAFOD, helping some of the world’s poorest fishermen support their families safely and sustainably. Our
parish envelope collection and a separate donation
raised £840.00 and a further £311.70 was
donated at the Lent lunches. Thanks also to those
who gave directly via the official CAFOD website.

SPONSORED WALK UPDATE:

Veronica Adsetts The final total raised from parishioner pledges was a tremendous £1275, to be shared equally between
our Parish Development Fund and CAFOD.
Again, many thanks to all those who supported
Veronica on her walk.

THE EMMAUS GROUP
The next meeting of our Bereavement Support Group is this Sunday 24th March between 3pm and 4.30pm in the Club Room. All are welcome.
For a lift call Jean O'Brien on 07588 401608

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Three children of our parish will take the sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time on Sunday 2nd June. This will be part of the usual Sunday service at 9:30 am, and we hope
that many of you will be able to join us in the Hall afterwards to congratulate the children and enjoy a slice of celebratory cake!
The usual team of wonderful people have very kindly offered to organise catering for the celebrations, so you know you are all in for a treat! If you would like to help with set-up of the hall, or provide anything for the celebrations, we would very warmly welcome your support and contributions. You can contact Sarah (sarah@zotico.net) to get involved, or for any other information

AYLESBURY LISTENING

Following on from our Synod listening and Assembly last year, Bishop David has asked the mid-Bucks Catholic community to reflect together on our future. Aylesbury is growing, and our parishes have had a lot of changes over the last thirty years. Where are the opportunities and challenges? What next steps do we need to take to be growing and vibrant communities? Make sure your voice is heard as we take significant decisions
about our future. Listening groups and other opportunities to take part are happening across our pastoral area through April.

You can get involved by coming to one of our 3 parish listening sessions:
Tuesday 23rd April at both 10.30am and 7pm and
Saturday 27th at 5pm.

All sessions will be in the Clubroom. To find out more
visit
https://northamptondiocese.org/pdaylesbury/.
Then come and meet with Bishop David on 16th May at St Michael’s School Aylesbury, 7.30pm to hear the results of the listening.

Housebound

If you are aware of anyone who is sick or housebound, please let Father Lijo know so that a visit can be arranged and for them to receive Holy Communion, if requested.

Please e-mail (parish.stteresapr@northamptondiocese.org) or leave a message at the Presbytery.

PLANNING FOR THE NEW COMMUNITY CENTRE

If you have not already done so, Please fill out a questionnaire and return it in the box provided. It is important that we hear from as many parishioners as possible (of all ages!). We need your thoughts and ideas so that we can build the best possible facility for the future of our parish community.
