CHRISTMAS EVE BEFORE THE 8.00pm MASS  there will be a Carol Service at 7.30pm. Try to arrive on time for this. Both the 6.30pm and 10.00am choirs have been working hard to make our Christmas Masses truly festive in honour of Our Lord’s Birthday. Our sincere thanks to them for all they do all year round but especially at Christmas and Easter.

JUST TO REMIND YOU  as you make your offerings for each of the Christmas Masses please remember that these collections will be for our parish Priest Father John. Thank you.

CONFESSION   Advent is the time to review our lives and see where we need to change for the better. On Monday (20th December) there will be two Masses, the 10.00am is an ordinary Mass but Father John can be available for Confession., and  there will be a Mass of Reconciliation at 8.00pm. Canon Tim Russ, Father Leszek Wisniewski and Father John will be available for those who wish to go to individual confession after  Mass. Please keep in mind the teaching of the church; Individual confession to a priest is the only way grave sins can be absolved. The sincere reception of Holy Communion removes other sins. Individual confession is always available – each individual must judge whether she or he needs absolution in this way. It is a good thing, wonderfully good, for Christ’s faithful to meet Him in this sacrament.

CHILDREN, IF YOU COME TO THE 4.00pm MASS ON CHRISTMAS EVE   don,t forget to dress in Nativity costume, and walk down to the Crib with Father John as baby Jesus is placed in the manger.

MONEY AT THE CRIB  this year will go to Apostleship of the Sea, so many sea farers are away from their loved ones for long periods of time, which must be especially hard at Christmas.

DECEMBER WINNERS, CHURCH DEVELOPMENT DRAW   Congratulations to Jim Heffron who has won 1st prize and to Theresa Aldis who has won 2nd prize.

          ………………………………………………………………

As Advent draws to a close and our thoughts turn to the final preparations for Christmas, let us pray that Christ will truly come to our hearts and fill us with peace and serenity. May Christ come to our homes and bless all who enter therein.

A happy and holy Christmas to you all.
