When we experience sadness and loss in our lives in whatever form this experience comes, we can be devastated.

There may be practical issues to deal with as well as the enormous emotional, psychological and spiritual challenges.

 

Here at St Teresa’s we reach out to parishioners who are carrying the heavy cross of bereavement (some for many years).

Just as Jesus accompanied the disciples on the road to Emmaus, so our support group tries, with God’s  grace, to be there for those who are feeling in need of friendship and even a helping hand.

Every last Sunday of the month we have a drop-in session in the Club Room between 3pm and 4.30pm. We have no agenda other than to silently acknowledge that we have experienced loss; we don’t talk about death and we are not counsellors.  It is not a club or a prayer group.  Everyone is welcome; no questions asked except, “tea or coffee?”
