EASTER OFFERINGS Thank you very much for all the cards and your generous offerings over Easter. May
God reward you for your kindness and hospitality you have shown over the
holiday period.
THE GIFT OF GOD We tend to
think of Christmas as the time for giving gifts, yet the theme of gift is
present in all of today’s readings. When Jesus appeared to the disciples in the
upper room, it was not just to prove He was the Son of God but to empower His
disciples. Jesus gives them all the Holy Spirit and empowers them to forgive
sin. In the Acts of the Apostles, the apostles are empowered to work miracles
and signs. Then the disciples share “their food gladly and generously.” St Peter
thanks Jesus for giving “us a new birth as His sons.” All this giving fills us
with Easter joy.
