CHRISTIAN UNITY WEEK This is Christian Unity
Week (from 18th to 25th
January, the feast of the conversion of St. Paul). The Vatican II decree “Unitatis Redintegratio” starts, “The
restoration of unity among all Christians is one of the principle concerns of
the second Vatican Council. Christ the Lord founded one church….However, many
Christian communities present themselves to men as the time inheritors of Jesus
Christ….such division openly contradicts the will of Christ, scandalizes the
world, and damages that most holy cause, the preaching of the Gospel to every
creature”. No true Christian can allow this division to continue. We are all
called to work towards unity accepting that much of this division is caused by
historical circumstances. Please make an effort to attend the Christian Unity
service on Tuesday evening. If you are unable to attend please pray “that all
may be one….” (John 17:21) : that the church may be a
unity of faith, hope and charity: “one body and one Spirit”. (Ephesians 4:4-5)
A SERVICE FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY is
being held at the Baptist Church this Tuesday (25th)
at 7.45pm. It would be great if a good number of St Teresa’s parishioners were
able to attend.
CAFOD PROJECT GROUP MEETING is this Tuesday (25th)
in the clubroom at 7.30pm. This will be a planning meeting (don’t forget to
bring your diary’s) New members are always welcome.
THE SEWING GROUP will meet again this
Thursday (27th) at 10.30 in the clubroom.
