DISCOVERING THE TREASURE As we start our summer holidays it would be a good time to search for the treasure which is the Kingdom of Heaven. We all need a rest and look forward to doing something different. Perhaps we could echo Solomon’s prayer for Wisdom and ask God to help us discover what is truly important in our lives.
Glory to God – “PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL” where at present we say “his people” now we describe what sort of people they are, just as in the Latin text. It makes clearer sense of how people live according to God’s will. The phrase is often used by the popes and synods too when they address their teaching to all people of good will throughout the world. This is the first of several changes in the Gloria which you will notice. They all attempt to make the English we use more precise in its meaning, closer to the Latin, and richer and fuller in expression.
PLEASE PRAY FOR our young people attending a two day Retreat in Northampton this weekend, pray also for the wonderful parishioners who go along to lead and support them.
PLEASE PRAY FOR all the children attending Lighthouse next
week (25th to 29th) may they find God in all they see and
all they do. Pray also for the amazing group of volunteers who make time in
their busy lives to ensure that this event happens each year, it is a huge
undertaking and we thank them for all they do.
IF YOU WERE NOT HERE LAST WEEKEND and you are a key holder for any of the parish building’s could you please fill in a couple of details on the form on the notice board in the Narthex so that we may update our records, thank you.
