WORDS AND ACTIONS It is very easy to know what is right and to tell others what to do. However, when it comes to ourselves we can very easily make excuses and see all sorts of reasons why we can behave differently. Christ could easily have used his equality with God to behave differently. Yet He humbled himself and shared our life to set us an example. We too should set a good example to others.
THANK YOU Last Tuesday we hosted the Southern Area of the Diocese to a “Together in Faith” volunteers meeting. Thank you to all of you who helped with the catering and organisation of the evening. Bishop Peter expressed his appreciation of our hospitality.
TOGETHER IN FAITH COMMITMENT WEEKEND During all Masses this weekend and next weekend, we will invite all parishioners who have not yet been contacted to join us in participating in the Together in Faith campaign. We ask you to consider a sacrificial gift to the campaign – one that is right for you.
To date, we have raised over £96000 and are well on our way to our challenge goal of £130,000 I am heartened and humbled by the support of our generous parishioners. Of this £9,600 will be coming back to the parish to help with our local needs.
Together in Faith embodies Christian stewardship, asking us all to contribute our time and treasure to our parish, diocese and Church. To continue our success, I respectfully ask everyone to consider participating in the Together in Faith campaign. A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all those who have been volunteering their time to assist in this most important project over the past few months.
