LIVING WATER Water is essential to life. God gives His people
in the wilderness water so that they
can live. He gives us water in Baptism so that we can have everlasting life.
The love of God is poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We are made
receptive of the words of Jesus which are spirit and life, living water which
quenches our thirst. Only God can satisfy human longing. If we seek
satisfaction elsewhere we shall remain unsatisfied.
HELP REQUIRED We need someone who can
work with Fr John to ensure that our church and buildings are legally
compliant. This involves ensuring that our electrical and gas installation
certificates, asbestos register, fire risk assessment and health and safety
files are all up to date. If anyone is willing to help Fr John please make yourself known.
THE CREED On Saturday 26th
March (this Saturday) at the 6.30pm Mass, the candidates who will be received
into the church at Easter will be presented with a copy of the Creed. Next week
Father John will say a few words about the new translation.
HOLY WEEK CONFESSIONS Fr John will be hearing confessions after the
morning Masses 18th to 20th April (Monday – Wednesday) On
Monday 18th April at 8.00pm there will be a Penitential service
followed by individual confessions heard by Cannon Tim Russ, Fr Leszek and Fr John.
ST JOHN’S GOSPEL is quite different in
many ways from that of the other three Gospels. Would you like to know about
it? The Bible Group start looking at it this Thursday
(31st March), and are hoping that a few more parishioners may want
to come along. We meet in the clubroom from 7.30 to 9.00pm.
