CHRISTIAN UNITY   A special “thank you” to everyone who took part or attended the Christian Unity Service at the Baptist Church on Tuesday evening. St Teresa’s was well represented. Our presence is a strong witness to our faith to the wider community.

TODAY’S MASS  After an initial call to conversion, the prophet Zephaniah promises the humble that God will give them rest. Jesus too, when He starts His ministry, gives a sermon on a mountain where he promises the poor, humble and others that they will be blessed or happy. These criteria form the basic law on which the Kingdom of God is to be built.

CANDLEMAS – FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD  (Wednesday) This is a Feast both of Christ and His mother Mary. There will be a blessing of candles in the Narthex at 10.00am followed by Mass. As we carry candles into church we go to meet Our Lord as Simeon did and acclaim him “a light to reveal God to all the nations.” Let us walk as children of the light to bear witness through our Christian lives to Christ the Saviour of the world.

TUESDAY 1st FEBRUARY  Is when you need to have returned your renewal for the St Teresa’s Church Development Draw, please collect your envelope from the Narthex if you haven’t already done so.

If you are not in the Draw but would like to enter, there are pink forms to be completed and returned in the Narthex. To become a member it costs just £20 a year for one entry, each month £30 for 1st and £20 for 2nd prize are awarded, but twice a year the prize money increases to £100 for 1st and £30 for 2nd prize. Proceeds go toward church building and development needs.
