CHRISTIAN UNITY A special “thank you”
to everyone who took part or attended
the Christian Unity Service at the Baptist Church on Tuesday evening. St
Teresa’s was well represented. Our presence is a strong witness to our faith to
the wider community.
TODAY’S MASS After an initial call to
conversion, the prophet Zephaniah promises
the humble that God will give them rest. Jesus too, when He starts His
ministry, gives a sermon on a mountain where he promises the poor, humble and
others that they will be blessed or happy. These criteria form the basic law on
which the
CANDLEMAS – FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD (Wednesday) This is a Feast both of Christ and His
mother Mary. There will be a blessing of candles in the Narthex at 10.00am
followed by
TUESDAY 1st FEBRUARY Is when you need to
have returned your renewal for the St Teresa’s Church Development Draw, please
collect your envelope from the Narthex if you haven’t already done so.
If you are not in the
Draw but would like to enter, there are pink forms to be completed and returned
in the Narthex. To become a member it costs just £20 a year for one entry, each
month £30 for 1st and £20 for 2nd prize are awarded, but
twice a year the prize money increases to £100 for 1st and £30 for 2nd
prize. Proceeds go toward church building and development needs.
LITURGY GROUP MEETING will be held this Monday (31st)
at 7.00pm in the clubroom.
THE PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING will be held on Monday 7th
February at 7.30pm in the club room.
THIS WEEK’S RETIRING COLLECTION Is for Church Building
Work. The cost of the work that has now been completed on the Presbytery roof
is £2940.00. Please give if you possibly can. Thank you.
FAIRTRADE GOODS will be on sale this
weekend after each of the Masses. There are a good selection
of Traidcraft goods on display in the clubroom so
please pop in and buy something.
CHRISTIAN AID monthly lunch will take
place on Thursday 3rd February at the Baptist Church Hall from 12.00
noon to 1.30pm. Three course lunch with tea or coffee for just £5.50. All very
welcome.
PRO LIFE PRAYER WITNESS to pray for the end to
abortion. This takes place every 1st Wednesday of the month (2nd
Feb) from 12 – 1pm at
St T’s FC meet to go bowling on
Sunday 6th February.
MONEY. Offertory £887.78 RETIRING COLLECTION. A
further £45.00 for Pax Christi. Thank you. Retiring
collection this week is for Church Buildings. CAFOD £4.00 thank you.
