PEACE AND TRANQUILITY Last Sunday, we celebrated First Holy Communion in our parish. Friends and relatives were invited to the Mass. Quite a number of these were either non Catholic or were lapsed Catholics. A comment I heard was “How peaceful and relaxing it was in the church.” In today’s gospel Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.” So often we drive ourselves on, working harder and harder in order to achieve what we want. The Paradox is that the victorious triumphant kingship we crave is humility and comes to us “riding on a donkey.” In order to achieve we need to rest and pray.
RISBOROUGH FESTIVAL As part of the Risborough Festival week, two primary schools will be performing in St Teresa’s church on Thursday and Friday this coming week, between 12.30 and 2 pm, followed by tea or coffee in the clubroom (bring your own lunch). All parishioners are welcome.
