The Dismissal – GO AND ANNOUNCE THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD – This is one of the new phrases used to send us out from Mass. We need always to remember that what we celebrate at Mass strengthens us for our Christian life, and at the heart of that is our sense of mission to the world. Pope Benedict and a recent Synod of Bishops asked specifically for phrases like this to be included in the dismissal to emphasise how we leave Mass strengthened to bring the gospel to the world.
