THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD  Since Christmas Day we have contemplated the significance of God becoming a human being and its implication for our lives. We now look at Jesus, the adult, who is being baptised and receives the Holy Spirit. This is the inauguration of Jesus’ earthly ministry.

We also were baptised and received the Holy Spirit. Today’s Liturgy challenges us to see what has become of our mission and ministry.

CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES  So far about 40 questionnaires have been returned. If you were away last weekend, please collect a questionnaire from the narthex and return it either to the box provided or via the Presbytery letterbox.

PRAYERS  Please keep in your prayers Peter Neal who is being received into the Catholic Church this Saturday (8th) at the 6.30pm Mass and Anna Power and Ray Conyers who have both undergone surgery this past week.

HOLIDAY  I shall be going on a short holiday next week and Father Tom Kenny will be looking after the parish. I know you will make him most welcome.

RETIRING COLLECTION FOR 29th AND 30th JANUARY  We have now received an estimate for the work that needs to be done to the Presbytery roof, at the moment it stands at £2450.00. The next second or Retiring collection will be at the end of January after each of the Masses specifically for Church Building Work, thank you.

PLEASE PRAY FOR  Deacon Jim Griffin who recently passed away after a long illness.

PLEASE PRAY FOR  our young Confirmation Group who will be attending The Lumos weekend Retreat 14th, 15th and 16th of January, pray also for their parents and the good people of this parish who guide them through their Faith journey.
